I am pleased to announce that on January 22, 2009, two reputable Baltimore based funeral homes, with combined histories and strong traditions in excess of 350 years, exchanged the baton ensuring uninterrupted funeral, cremation and preplanning services for families in Northern Baltimore County and Southern Central Pennsylvania. In doing so, Henry W. Jenkins & Sons Company’s legacy became a part of Evans Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services. With the addition of the Jenkins – Monkton, Maryland Funeral Home, Evans now has three locations spanning Baltimore and Harford counties, the latter of which, has its own on-site crematory.

The name Jenkins in the funeral industry goes all the way back to 1799 and is summarized on the page which follows. In respect thereof, artifacts and pictures have been kept intact and fill the halls at the Monkton location, now joined by the equally proud story of Evans which was founded in 1865 and is now in its fourth generation of family ownership and operation.
